Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Farberware Plastic Cutting Board Set - 3 Pcs with Paddle in Classic White by Christy Brewer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great boards! A year of daily use - and still like new!

I've had these boards for over a year now! I bought these after a very positive experience with an exceptionally cheap 1/8" plastic cutting board. I wanted a few more and a bigger board so I bought this set at a very good price expecting to have a few items similar to my 1/8". Eight". Am I wrong? They proved to be much better than the cheap 1/8", much stronger, slightly smaller than 1/2" (just measured at 6/16") and had a much nicer plastic finish that seems to hold knives much better. .My 1/8" doesn't apply to these polycarbonate panels, but it flexes a little while they never flex on you, dishwasher or not. And the really great thing about all these hard plastic panels is the dishwasher, because when they get a little dirty toss them in and they look new. I can't imagine a wooden board would last as long as they can. My heavily used yearlings still look essentially new. I think they're loose Can last 10 years Another major issue I have found is that they are less prone to knife cuts than my other boards including the cheap 1/8" board mentioned earlier and the "Flex" polycarbonate board. Boards - I have Haven't used a plank of wood in ages. But with knife cuts, a very important note is that I've found a certain type of cheap serrated knife that really KILLS these planks . The blade I often see in supermarkets has a serrated edge with a thousand little pins type blade when viewed up close from the cut side. So it is not a "jagged" jagged edge, but often even a completely straight edge. , but serrated by "a thousand little pins" - a long, neat row of metal pins extending the entire length of the cutting edge. I have a set of knives as cheap as six for ten dollars that I use as steak knives and these things are absolutely going to destroy these boards. They will also destroy my other cutting boards so I can't hold it up against this board. Aside from the weird, cheap kind of knives, I can use them all day and leave no marks. I use them every day, cook a lot, and have been for over a year, and when I put them in the dishwasher when they come out, not only are they as white as new, they look almost new because they're there there are no dents or cuts. So for me if I avoid that cheap supermarket style knife blade I can use it forever with no superficial cutting problems. Most of the time, however, I use serrated edges with a "serrated" profile, and I don't have super-quality, super-sharp, straight-edged knives. But my serrated knives coexist very peacefully with these boards (again, apart from the odd blade profile of this cheap knife already described).
