This is not commercial plastic and sharp knives will leave cuts on the surface of the board that require disinfecting with chlorinated water and will remain forever. The price reflects the quality. I wouldn't give them to any bride thinking about the scourge of discarded plastic because I'm sure you'll give them to a thrift store if you can afford better ones.

These polyester cutting boards represent excellent value for money. You get 3 in this set: a large, a medium and a medium paddle. All boards have a hole for hanging on the wall and all boards are quite thin and easy to clean. There are grooves only on the blade to catch the resulting juice. They are all slippery to some degree so we use a tea towel on the bottom to keep them stable. Overall a good basic set.

I've had them for about a year now and they really hold up. I read other reviews and agree that they are tough but not tough enough to damage my knives. I have a number of classic Wustoff series and have had no problems and I have a lot of "knife marks" from cutting. Sometimes it's hard to remove cut marks as the boards are textured so I pop them in the dishwasher every once in a while and it takes care of any stains. I've had these boards for over a year now! I bought these after a very positive experience with an exceptionally cheap 1/8" plastic cutting board. I wanted a few more and a bigger board so I bought this set at a very good price expecting to have a few items similar to my 1/8". Eight". Am I wrong?
