Great light but with some limitations

Update: Star Docking. Although we didn't connect immediately, I did learn that this light was actually interfering with my two local OTA TV channels (antennas). When this indicator is lit, these two channels are completely disabled. Disruptions are that bad. I have no choice but to look for another light. Ok, I really like this light. My bedroom is quite small, even for a bedroom, so the 18 watt light is really too bright for normal everyday use. But I'm a bit fidgety and need a bright light for that, so I wanted a light that was bright, but is dimmable. Additionally, since this is a bedroom light, I wanted something I could use as daylight when I needed a clean, bright light, and something I could switch to a warm white (amber) light when it's time to settle down to calm down. Sleep. Because studies have shown that blue light disrupts sleep and all that. For my purposes, this lamp is definitely the right one. However. There are some special features of this lamp. Firstly, the listing says it's a CRI 90+ light, but the included installation guide says it's a more typical CRI 80. I have no way of measuring which statement is true, and the light is definitely "good enough", but the ambiguity here is a bit annoying. In addition, the light has four special presets on the remote control. Daylight, full brightness, warm white and night light. Daylight includes only LCDs with a blue tint. Warm white only includes LCDs with a yellow cast. Full brightness turns on all LCDs. So far, so good. What I find odd is that the "Night Light" button turns on all LCDs and dims them to a low level. It's actually still too bright in my small room, but what's even more puzzling is that it's an equal mix of blue and yellow LCDs, rather than just a dimmed version of just the yellow LCDs. Here, too, blue light disturbs sleep, so a night light should generally always be warm white. Or at least that's my personal opinion. Noticing that the night light function didn't quite match the color temperature I wanted, I tried switching to "warm white" and then dimming it as much as possible. Unfortunately, "dimming" never makes the light darker as far as the "night light" setting is concerned. With manual dimming at the lowest setting, I expect it to be about the equivalent of a 40-watt incandescent bulb. "Night Light" directly below. Overall I am happy with my purchase. This is not only an affordable price, but also excellent versatility. But I just can't give it the full 5 stars because the CRI listing is inconsistent and for the sake of simplicity its full potential versatility is reduced by remote settings.

  • Wide application and durability
