This is a better Ultras solution than simply attaching it to the back of your TV with a couple of Velcro straps. It's also easier to uninstall Roku if you need to for some reason. As advertised, the mount allows for a bit more airflow under and around the device, which doesn't get hot under normal loads but is capable of handling 4k content. That's a problem (and hopefully means there's some tolerance if Roku changes the size of future Ultras a bit - it will also fit smaller Roku devices, albeit with an obviously even looser fit). I don't have the vents in the right place on my TV. but agree with other reviewers that the hooks look a bit flimsy. I used the included 3M glue which works great. Just clean the area you stick it on first with 91% alcohol etc. And it's removable: once :) You can easily scrape off the residue, but next time you'll need a new double-sided tape, so make sure that it is where you need it before you attach it. Installation was very easy and quick. At least in my room, the IR instructions are correct - just make sure it's within 6" of the top of the TV and nothing is blocking it above and reflecting the IR signals well. I have no problem using mine with my Harmony IR remote, even though the Roku is completely hidden behind the TV. Of course, it doesn't matter if you're using a Roku wireless remote (or a Harmony hub that can connect over WiFi), but it's a good option for versatile IR integration. Check out the photo I posted mine in - the IR signals are hitting it from all over my bedroom. One final piece of advice: the Roku's small white light can bounce off your wall and cast a very faint glow over where it's installed. It's not that annoying, but if you want to tone it down or just suffer from OCD, get a bundle of these: LightDims Original Strength - LED Light Dimming Covers/Light Dimming Sheets for Routers, Electronics, Appliances and More. Dims 50-80% light in retail packaging. - 80% doesn't block the light completely - so you can still check if it's on if you need to - but dim it enough to stop the reflective glow. Definitely I recommend a pack of these stickers, if you have a lot of little lights from your TV, soundbar, consoles, etc. you'll find yourself using them for everything; They are virtually invisible and are excellent at dimming bright LEDs.
