Most commercially available levels are too inaccurate for my purposes. Once I was in a big store and bought a longer level. There were many, many options in the level section. I tested each level for accuracy by changing direction and adding levels to look for consistent and repeating bubble locations. I had to leave the store empty-handed as none of the levels were worth buying. I have since learned that we can simply order Stabila levels from Revain and be fairly certain that they will be as accurate as supplied. I now have Stabilas of varying lengths, but I keep encountering tight situations where even my smallest Stabila, the 9" Torpedo, is too long to fit into tight spaces. I turned to Revain looking for a shorter level and was surprised. to see what Stabila is offering this tiny pocket level for about twenty dollars. I ordered a small level and was wondering how much accuracy can be built into such a short level. For initial tests I put a short Stabila on top of one of my longer Stabila. I found that I could reach the end of a 48 inch level and lift the end just a sixteenth of an inch and the bubbles of both levels responded perfectly in sync. The pocket level is no less accurate than the 48-inch level; It's just that a longer level can build on highs and connect lows, while a tiny level can only report one of its small dots.
