Could use an inch or more, but as a back washcloth these are tops! I use an old fashioned toilet brush, hard wire spiral brushes. It has an ergonomic, double-curved handle that works well as a backwash, but the bristles tend to be too stiff. So I was optimistic when I saw this because all the back brush reviews said the wooden head was cracked or the bristles fell out etc. Those short plastic bristles seem perfect for brushing without being too harsh like other toilet brushes. would either be too soft, like back washcloths that fall apart after a few uses. Also another reviewer rated this exactly as falling in the wrong category! Must be in the hindquarters! It turns out it will last forever!
