I work with Porsche cars and small engines, they have aluminum engines and other parts and no doubt the threads are stripped, these and other dimensions are mandatory and real make the threaded connection stronger, and it's definitely better than buying a new part or welding it on and then drilling and bolting it. But if you tap aluminum you have to use anti-seize on the faucet or you run the risk of hanging it and possibly breaking it in the hole (big problem). This is the best I've ever used and it's very easy to make. Good product.
