Fast delivery of an essential tool

The helicoil kit is what it is and does a great job if you take care to install the coil correctly. I bought my first helicoil kit in 1969 to repair threads in an aluminum cast on my Harley Davidson XLCH Sportster. The new Helicoil kit is designed to repair the cam bearing cap threads (metric) on the aluminum head of my Toyota V-6 engine pickup truck (1994). I stripped a thread on my Harley but a previous mechanic stripped a thread on a Toyota.

  • Quality construction

Transmission Repair E4OD

The problem when I take my cars to service is that they often break. one of the holes for the bolts of the pallet. So I bought these spiral coils to solve this problem. I've never used spiral coils before but was surprised at how easy it is. This kit contains a special tap, installation tool and 10 or 12 (I don't remember right away) spools. You will need a 21/64 drill bit, not included. The manufacturer recommends NOT to use thread lock on it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Only available in white

If in doubt, use the original.

I considered snagging one of the kits with the lesser name "Reel" but at the job I was working on I couldn't face the fact that she wasn't dead were. I took this kit along with the recommended Bosch drill and everything worked great. The proprietary heli coil kit is definitely a quality solution for critical threading applications. Coils, faucet and installation tool worked great. I was able to solve the problem on the first try. I now have several spare spools and the cost was worth the peace…

The paste tool is terrible! Where's the tap?

I had the same problem as others: the small protrusion on the end of the insertion tool broke off on the first use. I had to spend a good 10 minutes making a notch in the end to allow the coiled oil to finish filling to complete my project (water pump bolt hole. Very disappointing. I've used coiled coils here and there for years and never have 'I've never had this problem. Ridiculous! Also, I haven't bought a set of spiral coils in a long time. But since when are they sold without a tap?! Funny

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Ugly packaging

Threadlocker installation

Purchased to secure inserts in a 2001 Ford F-250 with a 5.4 liter V8 engine. Was factory sized for the exhaust manifold stud inserts (who knew Ford used helical coils on their cylinder heads from the factory) and worked well. Installation with thread lock is recommended. (By the way, removing the exhaust manifold on a 5.4 liter V8 is a pitiful job in a car, and you literally have to cut the old manifold to pieces and smash it open to gain access to the remains of the bottom rusted nuts. I had…

Spool Thread Repair Kit

I bought this because the mechanic tore off the caliper bolt hole on my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Then he told me that because of the whole stripped screw I needed a brand new spindle which would cost hundreds of dollars in parts and labor. I would like to say to anyone who needs to repair a cleaned bolt hole, this product works great. I got the job done in less than an hour, from start to finish. Just note that to use this product, I also had to purchase a 21/64 drill bit to drill a hole…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Nothing here

Much easier than I thought

I have to admit I was nervous installing this product. I had to replace the threads on two cylinder bolts on the engine. I was worried about drilling the hole a little crooked and then the studs wouldn't line up. If I screwed up, I didn't have a "plan B". For all my misgivings, the first one lasted @ 45 minutes. After the first, the second lasted about 10 minutes. It's a lot easier than I imagined. Follow the instructions and it will work smoothly. One point though. When drilling a hole for a…

Stanley coils are great but this KIT is crap - detailed explanation

This kit was used to repair the threads of a stripped gear pan bolt in an aluminum gear case. The insertion tool broke on the first use, a replacement hack made this job take 3x longer than necessary and the rest of the coils are useless without the correct insertion tool. Why the kit is scrap and of little value: The tool for installing the helicoil (a long black bolt-like thing) broke on first use. At the end of the tool is a small handle that engages the shaft of the coiled coil. This allows
