The controller has never worked reliably.
I've had the aquarium heater less than a month and had problems from the start. The red light indicating it's heating up didn't come on. I tapped it on the countertop and sometimes it would turn on. The water was never heated above 75 degrees Fahrenheit. I had a 200 watt Aqueon heater that worked better but didn't produce enough heat. Sometimes it worked with warm water and sometimes it didn't work and the water was cold and the fish were unhappy. I believe that the regulator was faulty, after all something could go wrong with the heating pipe itself. DEFECTIVE and I returned it to Revane.
