Advantages: The soldering iron heats up very quickly, is very light and feels comfortable in the hand like a pencil. I used it to solder a damaged panel of stained glass. A very economical item. Cons: One feature that I think could be improved isn't with the soldering iron itself, but with the bracket assembly. If you decide to store the holder assembly in the carrying case after using it with your soldering iron, you will have to take it apart each time you're done. When assembled, the bracket will not fit into the case. Not a big deal but a little uncomfortable. Maybe if it's done with a loop instead of a nut and bolt. Another improvement concerns the instruction manual, which requires more detailed information on how to set the soldering iron heat. Finding the right attitude is trial and error. I definitely recommend this soldering iron as it works very well and is very cheap.
