Excellent, simple soldering iron

Advantages: The soldering iron heats up very quickly, is very light and feels comfortable in the hand like a pencil. I used it to solder a damaged panel of stained glass. A very economical item. Cons: One feature that I think could be improved isn't with the soldering iron itself, but with the bracket assembly. If you decide to store the holder assembly in the carrying case after using it with your soldering iron, you will have to take it apart each time you're done. When assembled, the bracket

Great product for newbies like me

Failed to load media. I got this to try and upgrade my computer and to be honest do some art projects too. I know nothing about soldering so I prepared myself to read a lot and watch instructional videos, but to be honest it wasn't hard to figure out. everything is here. For example, when trying to mount the pen holder, I didn't realize that I had to use two small nuts to hold it in place because the hole was too wide. And due to my inexperience, I didn't fully understand what a demolition pump

Ok there are a few issues

I stumbled across an impromptu jointing project and bought this to replace an old soldering iron. It is fully functional but there are more complete soldering kits in the same price range. Solder, a pump and stand are essentials, but it's hard to justify the price tag for extra tweezers. A few notes: Firstly, this looks like the same iron that comes with a number of other sets and I can't imagine it being that accurate, but the temperature dial isn't very clearly marked. Even now I'm not sure…

Pros
  • Welding and Soldering
Cons
  • Obsolete Model
