Review on G-STORY Portable FreeSync Speakers Nintendo 15.6" 165Hz Ultrawide Screen with Wall Mount & Flicker-Free Technology, 1920x1080p Display - GST56 by Cedric Ozbirn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great on M1 MacMini! (after changing some settings)

So far I'm really impressed with this monitor! I wanted to make a few quick notes to help other people with M1 Macs: * Out of the box (out of the box) the frequency was capped at 60Hz and the resolution was changed (making everything look short and wide). I was able to fix this by enabling Freesync/Gsync (default is "Off"). After turning on Freesync/Gsync everything was in the right proportions, the refresh rate jumped to 165Hz and the colors look great! not to forget to update this review). *It looks like there is some HDR mismatch with Mac setup and G-Story menu setup. When G-Story HDR is enabled and Mac HDR is disabled in Mac display settings, HDR appears to be enabled (very vivid colors). When G-Story HDR is enabled and Mac HDR is enabled in the Mac display settings, HDR *doesn't* appear to be enabled (colors are dull and washed out).* They seem to have added rubber feet to the bottom of the display to avoid the first few slippage - Answer comments. * I can run at full brightness with a single USB-C cable. * Speaker sound is better than expected (similar to laptop speakers). * I'm glad I got the 15.6 inch screen. because I plan to use it for travel and it's larger than I expected (I was torn between 15.6" and 17.3". * The USB-C cable seems to be of high quality ( quite thick) with good connections (I expected worse based on other comments) Thanks!
