Review on Whistler WS1025 Analog Desktop Scanner by James Auzenne

Works great for a while

UPDATE 10/21/2019. I have not used this scanner for more than ten weekends and only worked a few hours a day. Yesterday I discovered that this scanner has a crackling static noise that I thought was coming from somewhere in my area, so a higher NR CONTROL setting is required. Today I noticed that about 15 minutes after turning on the scanner the same thing happens which caused the RED FLAG to go off. and so I unplugged the antenna and found to my surprise that the "noise" was still there, meaning it was INTERNAL FOR THIS SCANNER. Bottom line I don't know if I have a bad scanner or if the scanner is intermittently bad or if there is an issue with the design of this model, in any case I've just ordered a new UNIDEN BCT15X and as for this Whistler it's about LOTS OF CHARACTER. ! If you buy this model, I wish you better luck than me. My Previous Review: In addition to my P25 digital scanner, I find this analog device works well and is easy to use for my aircraft AM/FM, fire, ham and marine surveillance needs, plus the sound is punchy and clearly, not like my expensive digital device sold by another manufacturer.
