This recorder works well and is very easy to use. No drivers need to be installed on Win10. Works well with almost any software like OBS. Unfortunately, as it doesn't offer 4k (4k60hz) output, it's not a device for those trying to start a YouTube streaming channel. But for a layman like me, that's very nice. Any HDMI video source will work fine, but it will downscale 4k to 4k30 or 1080p60. You get what you pay for, and this thing is pretty cheap right now at just over a hundred dollars. The picture quality is MUCH better than other USB3 HDMI video capture adapters I've tried. I use it with a trinocular microscope to record the soldering. The scope has a 1080p60 CCD, so it's perfect for my purposes. Cheaper HDMI capture devices tend to result in overly compressed video. Not with this device. So let's summarize. 1. There is nothing easier than using this device. Literally plug it in and use any software you want.2. The quality is excellent. No noticeable compression artifacts in the output video.3. It's not true 4k (4k60), but if you can live with 1080p60 or 4k at half the frame rate, then fine. I couldn't find any USB3/Thunderbolt3 capture devices that played 4k correctly. For now I think this device is the best you can do without a desktop/PCI card based capture device.
