Didn't work at all - spent an hour on it

1. Windows 10 keeps disconnecting and connecting the device2. If you see a device in Control Panel/Devices - Elgato Camlink 4k - if it appears in the Devices panel (it disappears and turns off), when you click Properties you will see an exclamation mark - and a message that this device did not start and some then error code 10 something like that.3. Tried restarting several times, even plugged it into a USB 2.0 port, nothing really worked. I have an Elgato HD60 Pro and it works fine so I'm not…

Overheated and failed regularly - 2 different blocks. Buy Pengo instead.

TL;DR: Overheating. overpriced. Don't waste your money; Instead, buy the Pengo HDMI Grabber at 1/3 the price and enjoy the native USB-C port to boot. It is sad. Elgato is a company I've bought products from for years, but rarely anymore. Having bought the Cam Link 4K on the advice of a consultant, I expected them to have the same quality I've enjoyed with their other products I've used for years, such as EyeTV. Default. Its big problem is that it keeps overheating and the feed from my camera…

Great element for creating live content.

It works as advertised. Read the list of compatible Elgato cameras carefully. If it says the community said it works, make sure you do your research first as it may work but not in the way it was designed for your use. I bought a camera to use with it and it fell asleep after 30 minutes, even with the settings. Not Elgato's fault. I was lucky enough to return the camera and get 100% support, but you might not be so lucky. to remove other devices or buy a dedicated USB PCIE card.

Maybe for some applications but not mine

I've heard a lot of good things about them - probably the best. I just don't see it. For reference, I've been using the LEADNOVO Audio Video Capture Card for several months with no problems and HIGHLY recommend it if you have a spare USB 3.0 port. It is used with a Sony Alpha DSLR that cost me over $900. I also have a Logitech BRIO that serves as a backup, but it doesn't go through the capture card (doesn't have to). It is connected to a high-performance Dell desktop computer with the latest…

Enthusiast Gear For Sale Price

I am a huge fan of Elgato products and this is another great product in their line. With Elgato Cam Link 4K you can connect almost any video recorder with an HDMI output and connect it to your computer as a USB device. If you want high quality video footage from your camera, this is for you. In 4K mode you can record at up to 30 fps, while in 1080 mode you can record at 60 fps. The Elgato website has a list of devices that have been tested and will work, but I personally believe most devices…

Good quality, easy to use

This recorder works well and is very easy to use. No drivers need to be installed on Win10. Works well with almost any software like OBS. Unfortunately, as it doesn't offer 4k (4k60hz) output, it's not a device for those trying to start a YouTube streaming channel. But for a layman like me, that's very nice. Any HDMI video source will work fine, but it will downscale 4k to 4k30 or 1080p60. You get what you pay for, and this thing is pretty cheap right now at just over a hundred dollars. The…

Now you can see every blemish on my face in HD and realtime :)

I should probably start with what I'm streaming on Twitch and I wanted to use my Nikon D5200 DSLR because it's sadly sitting in the corner , collect dust. I don't use this for Zoom/Skype meetings but I used it for a Discord video call. I will also list my PC specs at the end of this review for your reference. The reason I chose CamLink is because some of my streaming friends also use this device so I figured it would be the best option as they know a lot more. than me on what hardware is best…

Constant freezing problem. save your money

It's not as good as it should be. After setup, everything worked for a while. And then a severe frost began. Now it freezes every time I try to stream. It'll work for a while, and then from the viewer's side I'll just be a black box, and from my side I'll be frozen in place. When the program is open, there are no problems, everything is very smooth. But as soon as I open another program and it's on top and the Camera Link app goes to the background, it just freezes. Makes it almost impossible…

1) Misleading advertising 2) Laptop will NOT discharge

1) Their website claims that this device can use 'pure HDMI' when paired with a Canon T7i (Canon 800D) is coupled, but that's just not the case TRUE. Or at least articulate more clearly what is required. The ONLY WAY to avoid OSD items/focus boxes on the video output is to disable the camera's auto focus. :( But who's going to do that?!? Of course, the Elgato website lists the Canon T7i as "HDMI only" compatible, but they really need to put stars on it to let people know that this includes…
