Limited Intermediate Watercolors

I have Reeves watercolor paper that we have used with grade k-12 Crayola watercolors which range from $3 to $5. They are not much different - just compare classic drying sticks here. Pencils are only primary colors and black, so they are pretty limited in what they can do. Wet (Tubes) contain white and black so despite the limited quantity you can mix them and lighten or darken each color for lots of variety. It contains a couple of sheets (3) that were slightly bent around the edges, no big deal but I assume this is a common problem. At around $30 they seem way overpriced for this quality. If they cost between $15 and $20 I would give them 4 stars. This is currently too much for what you get. I think it's fun for, say, a 10-12 year old kid to feel like a grown artist. Of course it depends on the child, but mixing wet colors isn't very easy and the limited color options are frustrating. We really liked the varieties and they work great with the Reeves paper we own. I just expected more than comparable quality with colored pencils. cheap watercolors.
