The mesh and coating are durable as I treat the straps roughly and there are no visible scratches after wearing them all around for 2 months wore a watch. Closing is just 'pull and place' the magnetic part and the sale picture is misleading as there is no 'extra' part. The magnet is very strong BUT this force also attracts everything around it; I find paperclips on my wrist all the time and the magnet is sticking to other objects like a fridge or wire shelf and pulling on itself causing the band to come loose. The strap is easily adjustable to fit wrists/hands up to 9 inches (including 1-1/2 inch Fitbit). I bought the multicolored iridescent one and I love it - it's perfect!
