My elderly father wobbles and can even fall with a walker. When he's in bed, he sometimes gets up to use the night toilet, go to the bathroom, or just walk around. And he fell several times when no one heard him get up. At first I placed this motion sensor to trigger a few feet above the bed, but we kept getting false alarms when he raised his hand to scratch his other hand. I then placed it against the wall at the head of his bed about 10 inches off the floor so it would fire whenever his legs were lifted off the bed. It worked great. Now we can be in another room and know when he gets up. I like the wide range of volume levels and wide range of alarm tones. I also like how these settings are saved if the receiver is disconnected and reconnected later (or if the power goes out). The sensor has a snap-on cover that limits the field of view for motion detection. Right now our receiver is plugged in about 50 feet from the closed sensor and we've had no issues with reception or false alarms. One small negative I've found is that the bracket doesn't hold the sensor very tightly, a slight push can move it from a horizontal to a vertical position. nurse alert.
