The different types of software you have to use to connect it, especially if you don't have a default IP address on your network, is very confusing. Then, between the product description and even the vague settings in the firmware when you log in via the browser, everything seems like once you finally get it online it's easy to get notifications etc and it is Not. Other IP cameras I have make it very easy to view the camera remotely and set up text and email alerts as well. This camera does not have built-in software, you can get these features, but it requires third-party software installed on a computer on the network, which must be activated at all times, and also requires port forwarding through your router. Basically, it's a great camcorder with a great picture, and the third-party app it uses for remote viewing is just great. It has motion tracking and motion tracking alerts for a third party app, but even on the lowest setting the motion tracking sends you 1 million alerts a day, it's unreliable and it's really just a camera that can be used for remote viewing or with third party software . I would return it but in the end I went through everything to get it on my network and install it, not worth returning at the moment I will just leave it for remote viewing and another camera with the best Buy firmware I'm used to it, but apart from the picture quality, of course I didn't like this camera at all. I also contacted their tech support who was quick to respond the first two times I tried to resolve the issues but after that as they were not resolved they became unresponsive and did not respond to my previous emails or my new one . To update. Now the camera doesn't work at all. Doesn't even turn on. Warranty? The company doesn't even reply to my emails. The site isn't working. Doesn't take calls. Needless to say, the technician will come to help AGAIN, costs more than even the price of the camera. Lesson learned. Garbage chamber Garbage company. Carefully. To update. Beware. After another week still zero help or response from the manufacturer. no technical support. No guarantee. Nada. Worst camera and company.
