Review on πŸ“„ Fujitsu fi-7160 Color Duplex Document Scanner - Boost Your Workgroup's Productivity by Kino Gerami

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well with Mac.

This is a robust scanner for use in bulk on a single table. I recommend it for legal use with a Mac. You really need to eat the cost of driver software. A large court in my area that only uses paperless filings (Fulton County Superior Court) uses the same scanner, f1-7160, for attorneys and laypeople coming to court. Firm and the need to file paperwork in person. All federal and bankruptcy courts are now filing electronically only, and most Georgia state courts have transitioned to electronic filing, most exclusively. The days of running to court to avoid the law (or the filing deadline and parking and mileage.) are over. I'm a tech idiot (or not far from it), but I was smart enough to take a picture of a forensic scanner and buy one for my own office. I'm using macOS High Sierra 10.13.2, but took good advice and downloaded ExactScan Pro from the App Store for $79.99. Revain does not sell this software. The software found the scanner and I was in the store in about three minutes. You can scan by clicking on the screen or by using the rubber button on the scanner itself. The cost of around $850 plus Mac software is no joke. I expect to balance this with performance.

Pros
  • The large, easy-to-use 4.3-inch touchscreen makes it easy to scan documents to the right places. Scan to Google Drive, Dropbox, Desktop folders and more!
Cons
  • Not all fit
