Expensive but good quality

Some say it's a gray market product. It may be true, but my unit was shipped here in the States directly from Fujitsu. The included software is terrible. CDs are made months in advance so I expected the software to remain the same, but it turned out to be even worse. I had to download a much newer set of TWAIN drivers and software. It works fine on Windows 10 Pro, although Microsoft has discontinued TWAIN support on Windows 10. The device is used in a doctor's office and gets a lot of use so I…

Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Excellent quality but gray market

Fujitsu fi-7160 scanner excellent model; I didn't give it 5 stars though because when I tried to register it directly with Fujitsu I found that the serial number indicated it was a gray market which appears to be legal but if within the warranty period breaks, Fujitsu US shall have no obligation to repair or replace it. My understanding is that grey-market goods need to be sent to the importing country for repairs, which can be a big problem for the most expensive and/or large purchases. I have

Pros
  • Two-sided scanning with advanced paper handling system. Scan documents, business cards, receipts and photos.
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Works well with Mac.

This is a robust scanner for use in bulk on a single table. I recommend it for legal use with a Mac. You really need to eat the cost of driver software. A large court in my area that only uses paperless filings (Fulton County Superior Court) uses the same scanner, f1-7160, for attorneys and laypeople coming to court. Firm and the need to file paperwork in person. All federal and bankruptcy courts are now filing electronically only, and most Georgia state courts have transitioned to electronic…

Pros
  • The large, easy-to-use 4.3-inch touchscreen makes it easy to scan documents to the right places. Scan to Google Drive, Dropbox, Desktop folders and more!
Cons
  • Not all fit

Warning, this is a gray market product.

I would give this scanner five stars if it weren't for the following: Others say it's a gray market product and therefore important. First, I love the hardware. I didn't like the Paper Stream software that came with it. I found it difficult and confusing. I ended up downloading ScanSnap Manager for fi series which is incredibly easy to install and set up. But here's the problem: after a few days, the scanner stopped finding any software. He kept wanting to take me back to my Windows scanning…

Pros
  • Scan speeds of up to 30 pages per minute with a 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). Optical resolution up to 600 dpi.
Cons
  • Hardly ever

Gray market device

Today I was shocked to discover that the Fujitsu fi-7160 scanner I bought from Revain is a gray market device and not intended for sale in the US. I have to say right away that the scanner is excellent. I had the previous generation for a few years and needed an upgrade. I love this model and hope it will give me a long life. However, when I called Fujitsu for technical support this morning, I was told that this device is sold on the gray market. Fujitsu's support was excellent. I was…
