Inexpensive repair for my 2009 Mini S

The part looks exactly like the one that was removed from my car. My 2009 Mini Cooper S had a hesitant start, ran rough until it warmed up, overheated. The fan ran continuously and continued to run for about 15 minutes after the machine was shut down. Decided to just replace the coolant temp sensor and not the entire thermostat as it wasn't leaking and it looked like the thermostat was opening. My car has a non-original thermostat that has lasted longer than the stock thermostat. This temp sensor may be the same as in my aftermarket thermostat. The exchange went smoothly and seamlessly. I fixed the car and started it up in about half an hour. I may be faster than some as many times I have had to remove material to get to the sensor for another repair so I can do this in my sleep. However, this is very easy to fix with basic hand tools. I estimate I have around $350 to replace the part myself in half an hour.

Pros
  • Durable paint job
Cons
  • Blank
