Restored Temperature Reading

The thermometer sensor in the rearview mirror of my 2005 Colorado was missing when I bought it. This restored that functionality. The sensor snaps into the hole in the vertical brace in front of the radiator, but the grille must be (partially) removed to install. My impression is that the system reads 1-2 degrees below zero, but in the NE winter I would prefer this as an "early" reminder of possible icing conditions.

Used on 2005 Silverado WT

Adapted to 2005 Chevrolet Silverado WT. I bought a used GNTX 261 auto-dimming mirror with compass, temperature and Onstar buttons; This isn't a Silverado mirror of the year - I think this mirror would come from a Tahoe/Yukon/suburb or something. I connected this sensor directly to two ports on the mirror, not a junction box. Works great and seems pretty accurate based on the IR thermometer.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Works great.

Works great on at least 2005 Silverado, 2005 Suburban and 2004 Yukon. I replaced it as a PM as the old one looked a bit rough and the new sensor is so cheap. This is a sensor that sends temperature data to a thermometer in the rear-view mirror and is mounted between the grille and radiator, near the center on the driver's side. ** Another similar sensor is installed next to the headlight on the passenger side. This is another P/N sensor that is linked to the automatic/digital heating and air…

I was concerned about the price but so far it works great

I don't see how this price can be beat. The fork didn't have to be changed either. This part arrives and says "GM" on it, although it's slightly different than the defective stock sensor. Plugged it in and it worked right away! Removing the grill was a little tricky. Take your time and be patient. The clips on top weren't that difficult to remove, but I almost broke the clips on the bottom because the orientation of those clips was different than the top. We're only on day one, but the sensor…

Ambient OEM replacement

Can't believe after 15 years the factory has died then the cost of a new one (I think it was 2.83 or something like that) is amazing they do that has lasted a long time. Hopefully this one will last another 15 years (and me and the truck will last another 15 years). The old one was grey, this one is black and replaces some of the old part numbers but works the same. I noticed that it took a few minutes to get the new temperature displayed correctly (maybe it has a built in soak time) so you…

AC Delco 25775833 Ambient Temperature Sensor

Correct part for the 2003 Trailblazer (check if it fits other models) that provides automatic control of the vehicle's air conditioning temperature. and heating controls work perfectly. This sensor (on Trailblazers) is located in the radiator mount on the left side (away from the driver's seat) of the vehicle. You'll need to remove the grille (it snaps into place with 11 clips located around the entire perimeter, including two clips on each headlight housing). Once removed you will see the…

Pros
  • Rugged Finish
Cons
  • Guard

This is the correct sensor to send ambient temperature information to electronic rearview mirrors with a compass/temperature display on a 2001 Suburban 1500 LT (and other Chevy/GMC models with this accessory). although I couldn't find an exact match to the part number I found on the OE and the clip configuration on this one was slightly different. However, once I was sure it would fit properly into the OE electrical connector, I simply cut some material off the back of its mounting bracket to…
