I tried it in live mode. Works great on a microphone stand. The pickup circuitry is as advertised and the sound quality is good. The downside is the control. It's hollow in the throat, causing your handling of the mic to reverberate and rise in your ringer speaker system, and that's pretty significant. I'm wondering if I can improve it by filling this cavity with hot glue. Also, the blue beta band curls slightly around the net, almost looking like a rubber band around a bunch of broccoli at the grocery store. I also don't like the bluish throat tint that sets it apart from Shure mics. But hey, at 20% off, how can I complain? The build seems halfway decent and I doubt I can put it through hell like my 58s, but I'm sure it will take some abuse and move on. I'd use it on stage for keyboard vocals, but that's about it. It's better than nothing when you're short of 58s, but really do it if you can afford it.
