I usually use SafeStart, but this time I tried Cycle. There is no doubt that certain bottled bacteria do actually speed up aquarium cycles. No, the speakers just didn't use it properly. The Cycle bacteria immediately started chewing the fish poo. I have never had ammonia above 0.5ppm (only 1 day) and then it went back to 0ppm within 10 days. Yes, there were 7 greedy and pooping fish in the aquarium, which did well and without any stress. I have had aquariums at home for almost 50 years and have always gone with fish. IMHO it's not cruel, at least when I do, and my fish thrive throughout the cycle if you take good care, know what you're doing and aren't lazy about tending the tank on a daily basis. Too many self-absorbed children today want things they don't need - think of some poor creature in a cage or aquarium suffering at the hands of these obsessed children or adults. Pure Abuse. Use bottle bacteria, it works. It really is. Forget what others say who don't know.
