Review on UBITBA250 New Challenger Replacement Manufactured Connecticut by Matthew Maxwell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ugly but works well

It has definitely been restored but still works well. When I took it out of the box it had a few smudges and smudges so I was a little worried it would work but I stuck it in the panel anyway. It wasn't that easy. This Challenger (model with switches is hard to work with. I had to remove the neighboring smaller switch to fit this one and then put the smaller one back in.) It worked without any problems.I installed a new HVAC system and the old 50 amp switch was making a humming noise and turned off after a few minutes. It didn't help. It's been working for me for two days and so far so good. *NOTE: I've been looking for a 60 amp circuit breaker but 50 amp is the strongest Type A Challenger Circuit breaker they make I believe there are higher amperage circuit breakers for the Challenger but they are not type A.

Pros
  • Breakers, load centers and fuses
Cons
  • Worn
