Great Lights!: Lighting & Lighting Accessories

I removed the hood panel (2008 Jeep Wrangler (JK) 2-door) and routed the wiring through (well sealed and neatly grouped) and installed switches on the cab . It looks fantastic and works fantastic. I made spacers out of real caulk that I bought from Advanced Auto to install between the brackets and mounting points due to the rust reviews I read on here. I only wear them for about a week but they are long lasting and I just don't see any problems. I can tell you that the design of these KC mounting brackets is much better than others I've seen. They are painted gloss black (matches my jeep) and are very well covered. While the instructions were very short and not very detailed, the included wiring harness makes it easy. I'm 54 and found it easy to install, just plug in one at a time and next time you'll know you're done. The biggest problem I had was getting the shifter cables into the cabin. To do this I used a putty knife and laid a rope on it, gently pushed it to where the windshield corner bracket was removed, then tied the required wires to the rope and taped it in place and pulled it out. When the bracket is put back on, nothing, not a single wire, is visible. Three more notes; 1. When routing the wires under the hood, keep them away from the wiper arm/motor. I ran mine between the plastic shield and the firewall.2. After removing the inner pillar panel on the driver's side, I drilled a small hole in the inner pillar panel for a ground point, all great! 3. When installing the included switch, instead of using the included small square mounting block, drill (DO NOT RE-DRILL) a hole just big enough for the switch pin to get close to the fitting, and screw the switch into the hole yourself . , the two plastics connect very well and firmly. Then put the included lock nut on the back. This turns the switch into a rock solid mount. Hope this was helpful... Everything went great and I love how well these lights work. Much luck!
