I looked at three main stands for laptops. I've looked at this one, which is all angle adjustable, and the Nextstand (a generic roost stand). This one didn't suit my needs, so I opted for Nextand (very happy with it). I compare it to the adjustable corners option (I use the brand name iCraze). I didn't get iCraze because I read about the legs falling apart. There is no rubber on the bottom so they slide instead of staying in place. They take a long time to adjust and find the right angle, which sounds like a lot of trouble. They only have metal on the part that holds the laptop and the rest is cheap plastic. This product, Lamicall, is made much better. It's all metal and looks good. Rubber pads on the bottom keep it in place on almost any surface. Rubber strips on the top will hold any laptop (the bottom edge is almost not needed). When the laptop is on, it rotates with minimal effort, but stays in place very well. It wobbled a bit on top but the overall quality of this product was amazing. In terms of quality, it surpasses the other two products I've looked at. However, this product did not meet my needs. I didn't know that until I got it. This raises the back of my laptop by about 6 inches and I figured I needed it to be taller. It also has no ventilation holes. It's normal for computers with vents on the side (like a Mac I think) but my laptop has a vent on the bottom which means it's hard to breathe. My laptop was released in 2010 and so I want to take good care of it. Nextstand increases my laptop by about 12 inches which is perfect for me. I can look straight at my laptop's screen (and it adjusts when I have to go downstairs). The quality of the Nexstand seems to be better than the iCraze but not as high as the Lamicall. If you need a stand that will elevate your laptop by 6 inches and you have a laptop that doesn't need much ventilation on the side, go for this one. This is really a great product.
