Looks high quality but not quite what it says in the description.

Haven't used this yet and won't be using it for at least a month, but I'd like to share my first impressions now - plus some info that might interest potential buyers. I will update my review when I use it if necessary. First, in my experience, the U-bracket SHOULD be stainless steel. It attracts a magnet, so if it's SS, it's ferritic SS. Other types of SS aren't magnetic, so this test isn't definitive, but as I said, it looks like SS. The U-Bolt is NOT powder coated as mentioned in the description but I'm not sure why SS is powder coated so if the U-Bolt is SS it's not a problem. The plate appears to be powder coated. It doesn't look like the nuts are stainless steel, but if they are, that's actually a good thing because connecting stainless steel bolts and nuts can result in a condition called seizing, which can cause the nuts to stick to the bolts freeze solid. In fact, many reviews of such anti-rattle devices mention that the nuts freeze to the U-bolts so badly that they had to be broken or cut off. One seller of these devices even mentions that they replaced the stainless steel nuts with stainless steel to avoid this problem with stainless steel brackets. The threads on both the U-bolt and the nuts are very well made. The one I received has a 3/8" SAE thread on the u-bolt and the nuts require a 3/4" wrench. Overall, this appears to be a very well made product. I was under the impression that this is a very well made product and the price is very good. Tip: I don't know how well the included lock washers work. I have never used these lock washers, but based on my years of experience it would probably be a good idea to replace them with standard split lock washers. There are numerous complaints of nuts getting loose and actually falling off almost identical anti-rattle devices. So I suggest replacing the second nut (locking nut) with nylon nuts. I had a few on hand, but any hardware store has them in both regular steel and stainless steel. For those who don't know, nylon nuts have a nylon ring that keeps them from loosening due to vibration, so this is the perfect use for them. I was pleasantly surprised that the threading was 3/8" SAE, so I didn't have to run to the hardware store to get metric nylock nuts. Combined with your choice of lock washers, nylock nuts should virtually eliminate any chance of nuts.
