Review on RaceFace Mountain Handlebar 31 8 Mm 1 25 Inch by Lonnie Batch

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great handlebars for my 2007 Diamondback Coil Ex (not the best bike I know of)

This handlebar was purchased in black. I have a 31.8mm clamp, 785mm wide, 1.25" riser model for about $68 (paid full price. I wish I knew how to discount for an honest review get!). I couldn't be happier with the bike! I like the wide stand much more stable than the narrow one in my opinion. Tried the bike out in the Rocky Mountains in East San Diego and the bike worked flawlessly. It should be noted that if you are replacing the factory handlebars with a DB Coil Ex you will also need to purchase a larger stem to fit 31.8mm. clamp. I bought an Easton stem at my local bike shop for $30. In hindsight I would have bought a Race Face stem too but I thought my factory stem would fit the new handlebars but sadly it didn't. Although the clamp is wider, the rest of the stem is the same thickness as the factory stem. I was able to easily swap brakes, shifters and grips from the old handlebars to the new ones. You can't beat the price and quality of this steering wheel. If I switch to another bike I will definitely transfer these handlebars to it. It's not too wide as I feared. I thought I might have to cut them out, but I won't. I leave it as it is. It comes with markings on both sides should you wish to trim it down to a narrower stand. By the way, my friend has a $3000 bike and it had the same handlebars! Hope this info helps. Happy riding.
