I have an HP Deskjet Pro 118dw laser printer. I had to buy a new cartridge. I could refill my starter cartridge but thought the new one was a higher capacity so I thought I might give it a try. I've tried two other brands and the experience was TERRIBLE. After that I was ready to give up. Three laps later I was beside myself. They weren't cheap either! Then came the opportunity to use them. Let's see what happened. WHAT IS IT FOR? Supplied in a set of two cartridges. They are packed separately in cardboard boxes and in polyethylene. They have an orange protection and a plastic gasket that must be removed before installation. There is a tab with an arrow on the side. The supplied instructions are precise and clear. PERFOMANCE? When I first put this in my printer I heard it getting ready to use but I thought maybe it would reject it but it doesn't. Initially, the print was full of lines and not too big. There was also a terrible smell. However, as I continued to use it, it started to print well. I also noticed an improvement in quality. Print quality is close to that of an HP cartridge. DID I HAVE COMPATIBILITY PROBLEMS? Several times I got a warning that this was incompatible. However, the last few times I used it, there were no warnings. I'm not sure if it'll come back, but it's not hard to close the window and continue printing. ANY OTHER PROBLEMS? I haven't had any issues so far and have used it a few times since installing it. OVERALL So far I am pleased that these cartridges appear to be working. I was ready to give up, but it was worth it. I appreciate it working after a rocky start. So far there are no problems. MY RATES ARE FIVE STARS. I'm so glad I have a cartridge that works. The print quality is pretty good and if it still works I would buy it again in the future if the second one in the pack worked too.
