Mostly I use pins for switching. I can attach the clips and turn the fabric over to sew because I can remove the clips from either side. I can quickly remove the staples as I sew them on and then put them back together without losing them or poking them like pins. Needles will no longer become blunt or bent if you hit a needle while sewing! I often sew materials that shouldn't have a lot of small holes - check out my photo of a face mask being assembled with a polypropylene filter sheet attached to the mask fabric.
