I broke my big toe, was provided with open toe post op shoes and was advised to purchase CAM walking shoes. Open toed shoes and boots are good for moving around the house but not good for sleeping or wearing to work where I would prefer something lighter than hiking shoes that also protects my toe. The Darco APB boots were exactly what I was looking for. I wear a women's size 9 wide and after reading the reviews I ordered a medium size rather than the recommended small. Wednesday is too small for me. My broken toe barely touches the toe of my boot. It doesn't hurt my foot but definitely makes me uncomfortable. I hope that after a while I'll get used to the feeling of something touching my broken finger. The description says the boot is too big to fit a cast and bandages in - I don't have either but the fit is still uncomfortable. On the plus side, the design is much nicer than the standard hospital post-surgery shoe and offers plenty of customization everywhere except for the toe box. The profile is similar to a hiking shoe, but without a roll-off sole. The manufacturer needs to reconsider their sizing because if someone who actually wears the recommended shoe size for a medium size buys this shoe, they will never be able to wear it.
