Unhappy marriage

I want to love these headphones. I'm really. I don't want to be another financial asshole with (literally) headphones sticking out of his ears. It pains me to go to the downtown offices where you're more likely to see them strolling to their corner offices in their tailored suits. I'm not talking about this life. So I decided to see what was there. Samsung? e. I use S9+ but I've never been a fan of their audio products. Bragi? seems too ready to go and fears they won't be around for long. Bose or B&O? They seem to fall behind Bluetooth 4.x technology when version 5.0 is available. plus wasn't too sure about their water/sweat resistance given my active lifestyle. Jay? I've used their "wired" bluetooth headphones but didn't really feel the look. So that left me with the 65t Elite and the active version, and I chose the 65t Elite simply because of the muted color scheme. The installation is quite easy. I connected it to my Galaxy S9+ and two laptops and it was very easy. Just press and hold the right side button of the headphone and you will find that it is available on different devices. The Fit The small size of the standard earbuds didn't fit my ears exactly, so it sounded very airy at first. j. After trying other headphone options, I found that the largest fits my ears best, offering the perfect fit and blocking out outside noise. Material quality It is plastic. Everything is plastic. And I have no problem with that. A possible problem I see is related to the thin piece of plastic covering the case. The thing is not designed for such an optimistic life (opening and closing suitcases about 10 times a day), it lasts a maximum of 2 years. I've learned to be very careful in my approach. Sound quality Very good. The companion app helps a little with balancing bass, mids, and treble (you should probably download it, too, to get the latest software updates). I usually listen to Hip-Hop, Rock, Classical and personally I find that it covers different genres very well. You have to sit really well to fully appreciate the sound drivers. Daily use So this is where the story goes downhill and never recovers. Is it just me, or is Bluetooth "5.0" just a marketing term? At my old job I used Bluetooth 5.0 headsets (connected to a PC) and walked around my office with no loss of sound (actually I went to the 1st floor right under my desk on the 5th floor and it still worked. amaze balls ). That's what I expected from these headphones. Instead, the audio jumps constantly when my phone is in my pocket. OK. Maybe my pants are lined with a moisture-wicking material that interferes with signals? So I try on my suit pants (fortunately I don't wear full suits) to check and yes I still walk around town. I guess I just need to adapt my life to my phone's needs and start holding it while walking (I walk a lot since I live in the city). But no. It still crashes and flies. It's really a shame. Another thing that bothers me is that every time I take out the headset there is a very subtle static noise. This allows me to wake up comfortably around 2:00 p.m. when the eating coma sets in. Another thing that annoys me is that sometimes when I take out my earbuds and don't take out the left earbuds fast enough, the right earbud connects through itself and thinks I'm using 1 earbud for a call, so that one wins left earbuds. It doesn't work until I take out the right earbud, put it back in the case and pull them out again quickly or simultaneously. annoys. What I really like is the pass-through feature (activated by double-clicking the button on the right earbud). I often ride my bike around town and hearing cars, other bikes and pedestrians helps a lot and protects me from possible accidents. However, I'm never sure where the sound is coming from, so I essentially go into a meerkat-like state and check all my peripherals to see what's going on. I think the soundstage (available in high-end audio gear, where different sound sources can be "placed" in different "rooms" to create a spatial effect) is a missing feature and/or too thin to even consider to be called a sound stage. . A big mistake in my opinion. Battery life. Everything is OK. I get a good 5 hours on a single charge and the case can give 2 more charges so at least the battery life is as advertised. I haven't figured out the battery indicator on the case yet, but I wish it was a meter instead of a flashing light, but I'll learn to live with it. The quality of the microphone is great. It's got more mics than you'll ever care about, but to be honest that's about the only thing that keeps you from the day-to-day experience. I skype on my phone or laptop all the time and after testing with the mic check and skype listening feature I can say the quality is top notch. I've used it with Google Assistant while driving around 20mph on 8th Ave in New York, and even with wind noise, cabs, etc. It worked flawlessly. One annoying thing is that when it's connected to 2 devices and I switch from listening to Spotify on my phone to answering a Skype call on my laptop, it doesn't always switch consistently. Sometimes I have to unplug it from my phone to "pair" it with the laptop, but I've seen this happen with other Bluetooth headsets so I can't hit Jabra too hard on that. All in all, if you want to sit in your cubicle and isolate yourself from the world (but maybe eavesdrop on office gossip with the eavesdropping feature), this is great. If you're constantly on the go and can't afford to keep your phone close to your ears, it's hit or miss.
