The stone in the middle is beautiful. The craftsmanship is good especially for the price. Other reviews state it is a low quality item, and though quality does vary, so does leather. As someone who works with leather regularly, I can tell you that every piece of leather behaves differently. Some leather absorbs the color stain better whereas others do not; this is the reasoning why some of the notebooks may have discolorations on the cover. Natural blemishes also occur in leather such as breaks, lines and pores, as well as scarring. Keep in mind you are paying less than 10 dollars for a leather notebook, you wont get perfection, but you will get a good looking book for the price. If you are looking for something without stains, blemishes, or perfect assembly then you will probably have to dish out a lot more money.
