There are no circumstances under which I would recommend this product. After a month of use we were so happy. until this morning. Our cat pushed against the door from below as usual, but somehow his paw got stuck in the ground, with pads half on one side and half on the other. I've never heard of a cat like this in my life. He was in excruciating, unbearable pain and worst of all, the flap door was fully lodged in his pads and could not be pushed or pulled to free him. He went completely insane from the pain and started spinning and freaking out and for peace of mind I have a $1,700 vet bill for a broken leg. I also need to buy a new full bathroom door because it got destroyed when I removed that horrible cat door to free our kid. AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS. THEY ARE DANGEROUS TO YOUR PET. Our cat could die if she was home alone.
