I used to use one of the red inverters here at Revain with similar performance which has an aluminum case with external cooling fins. I bought this because the inverter is actually permanently attached to my car, between the center console and the lower left side of my passenger seat to charge phones and/or laptops etc. The cooling fins on the red versions started cracking my center console. So I found this as an alternative. I'm really not sure how well those cooling fins worked on the red version, although the fan seems to work fine on both this and the red version as I haven't had any heat issues with it so far.
