Longer cords than original are fine
I recently bought a non-original power adapter for another laptop and the cord from the adapter to the laptop was so short that the adapter was hanging in the air on the laptop when I put it on on my lap severely interfered with the laptop's power connection. Both the power cord and the DC power cord on this laptop are a nice length and the DC plug fits nicely into the power supply of my Acer Aspire A515-43. -R19L.
