Be sure to test this SSD before you start using it. The first one I got was acting strange. First format failed. Once the drive is set to the correct format, it makes loud intermittent "chirping" noises, becomes very hot during operation, and appears to freeze during data transfer. It also wouldn't properly detach from my MacBook even if the drive wasn't working, and "forced eject" resulted in the drive becoming completely corrupt! Since I was using it for Time Machine backups, this was a bit frustrating as it would require a reformat and another full backup. Luckily I was able to exchange at Revain and get a new disc. The replacement is still chirping softly, so maybe I just have sensitive ears, but it's also much slower and transfers data at the expected speed. For the past month, I've had no problems backing up and ejecting a drive after shutting down Time Machine.
