I have been using Lubegard Red Transmission Additive for many years so I decided to try Bio/Tech Engine Oil Protectant for the first time. I added it to my wife's 2011 Toyota Sienna engine. when I recently changed the oil at 100,000 miles. This van is equipped with a 3.5 liter 2GR-FE V6 engine and I changed the oil at 10,000 miles using 0w-20 fully synthetic oil, starting over. The engine was always reliable and did not use oil between changes. About 1,000 miles after this oil change, my wife pulled into the driveway and I can see a long line of motor oil on the sidewalk behind her. I check the oil, the dipstick shows nothing. My wife claimed that the low oil pressure warning light never came on and the engine ran fine. I got under it and found that there was a pinpoint leak in the rubber hose between the engine and oil cooler that covered the entire undercarriage with engine oil. I had the van towed to a Toyota dealership and they said this was a fairly common problem with 2GR-FEs of the time and that Toyota had updated this part with hard as steel lines. This hose repair was fully covered by the extended warranty on this part at no cost to me. Best of all, the engine appears to have survived the oil leak unscathed. I don't know how much engine oil was left in the engine, but there was a lot of it on the floor. The engine runs and sounds the same as before. Now I can't say for sure that using Lubegard prevented the tragedy in this case, but I believe it helped protect the engine during this oil leak problem. I will be using this Lubegard product in all my engines from now on to have the peace of mind it brings.
