The raised guard (on the top shelf in my case) broke as soon as I took it out of the box. While this was mostly my fault, the damage was due to the item's "expandable" nature, which allowed one half to slide out very quickly when it hit my meter. While I think that the seller should secure such a telescope product with for example a rubber band during packaging, it was mainly my fault. So buyers should be careful, but don't let that put you off the product. Otherwise good looking, minimalist, naturalistic chic, good capacity and a lovely addition to any kitchen that wants less of the 'rubber goods' look. Storage.
