I recently adopted my chinchilla from a man who couldn't keep her anymore. The previous owner used a triangular tray to give the chinchilla its dust bath and the result was dust EVERYWHERE. The dust was irritating both mine and my husband's sinuses, so I looked for something to keep the dust out. I chose the Lixit Chinchilla dry bath. I think she does her job well. My chinchilla jumped in without hesitation, which is saying something considering she will sit in her cage for minutes (or a half hour or an hour) staring suspiciously at new animals. However, I suspect she will like anything filled with blue dust. This bath helps keep the dust inside, but some of it escapes and I feel like I'm inhaling it from a few feet away. Also, the lid doesn't like to stay attached, so I have to be careful when picking it up because it falls off easily. I think overall this product is passable but not perfect. I think next time I'll try to get one of the little house-like dust baths instead.
