Dishes came out clean and shiny. Whether it's private label or a premium brand like Cascade, most of the products worked pretty much the same, except for the natural ones, which I wanted to love like Seventh Generation, but they didn't clean well. a premium version of their detergent, or multiple flavors of premium versions. We rode the top Cascade for a while and then went to the finish, both because of the great discount prices and coupon combos. We're going back to the regular flavors of the brands mentioned and they don't seem to wash anymore. So we went for the Premium Cascade line. I tried them because they were offered to me through Vine and I wouldn't buy them myself. These are loose powder packs, not hard rocks like individual premium branded drops. The sachet and soap don't always completely dissolve, often leaving an ugly residue of crumpled plastic with the hardened detergent. Sometimes there were pieces of hardened detergent where the capsule was placed. Housekeeping was adequate at best, but most of the time I had to run the dishwasher twice. And they are very expensive. If anyone is wondering what kind of dishwasher we use if they think it makes a difference - our first was a 29 year old Maytag. It was loud, but it was way better, better than anything we've had since. Then we had the mid-range GE Profile. It took 3 years for the engine to die. Then we got Bosch, which lasted 7 years. It was probably the worst dishwasher we have ever had. No matter what dish soap and rinse aid we used, glasses were stained and groceries stuck β except for the two-week bliss period we found when switching to a new premium brand. The dishes are perfectly washed for 2 weeks, and then again subjected to spotty, incomplete cleaning. We cleaned the filter once a week and sometimes more often and the mechanics didn't find anything on the block. Ironically 2 years ago we decided to replace this Bosch with a new Bosch and it was the next best machine to our Maytag. The filter needs to be cleaned daily, but Cascade's high-end filters work great. In second place are ready-made high-quality capsules.
