It just doesn't work. I've tried this on two Windows 7 machines and they work great. One is a desktop computer with a network card that works great when wired to a router. The other is an old laptop with built-in WiFi that no longer works. I plugged the laptop into a known working USB port, loaded the driver from the CD, but nothing happened after that. What's the point? I bought it to restore laptop functionality but it just doesn't work as advertised. The driver loads, the device appears to be powered on (the orange light is on) but when I click on the network icon it still tries to connect using the old non-working built-in WIFI on the laptop. Connected for desktop, same process, but when you hover over the network icon it just says "Not connected - no connections available". Therefore, there is NO way on these two computers to connect through this device. Completely useless and a waste of time, effort and money. Perhaps others have had success with Windows 10. But for Windows 7 it just doesn't work. The product description says "Compatible with all wireless routers. Just plug and play." No and no. Nothing is further from the truth.
