The rubber material itself is thick and hard enough, but still soft enough to prevent your feet from slipping, as with other floor coverings. The fit is pretty decent, although the edge pieces closest to the driver- and passenger-side doors seem to want to float above the door skin rather than rest on it. This can create a slight trip/pinch hazard if you're not careful, but I'll be watching over time to see if the rubber loosens and starts to fit better in that area. One negative point and my reason for the 1 star docking was that I instinctively followed the instructions that came in the box which meant blindly checking the fit of the driver's side panel and its relationship to the OEM retaining hooks (the actually) look more like the steering knuckles in the 2013 F150) and then cut out the appropriate holes with a utility knife. I didn't even think about it because 1) the OEM carpet mats had open holes for the posts to fit in and 2) the instructions told me to! The bushings simply snap onto or ABOVE the support legs instead of going all the way through the cut holes. This means there was no need to cut those holes, which will be very frustrating and worrying for me in the future, knowing I'm cutting holes in perfectly good rubber. Now I'm worried that some salt water might seep through those holes and lest I forget I didn't cut the most perfectly round and cleanest holes in the world thinking the posts would poke through and cover the hole. I still give this flooring 4 stars for excellent construction, quality and fit, with the proviso that please check that the flooring will snap into place before making any cuts!
