Revain again delivered my order surprisingly quickly. These Ford Racing rocker covers arrived in perfect condition thanks to the good shipping packaging. These rocker covers, like many other Ford Performance items, were built to stringent Ford specifications by a reputable aftermarket manufacturer. They are stamped from thick aluminum and polished to a mirror finish. Two flat inner baffles are supplied with mounting hardware. Baffles should be used to prevent oil droplets from leaking through the PCV/oil filler caps in closed crankcase systems and back into the engine intake where they can be combusted, resulting in reduced engine performance and performance. When used in a closed system, PCV, similar to that originally factory installed to reduce crankcase emissions into the breathing air, has an additional performance benefit that is sometimes overlooked. A properly functioning positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system creates a negative pressure (vacuum) in the crankcase and valve train area. The primary benefit was initially the elimination of naphtha, oil and exhaust gases/vapors entering through the piston rings (blow-by gases) mainly during the high pressure combustion cycle. The intake manifold provides a source of vacuum, of course, and an engine-specific PCV valve helps control flow as it fluctuates with variables like throttle position, engine RPM and load. In terms of performance, however, a negative pressure in the crankcase has a positive effect by increasing the piston ring seal. There are a few other advantages of the PCV system, but this is not the space to explain them all. For more information you can contact me at any time. For those who doubt the performance benefits, keep this in mind, serious drivers know the benefits. They are willing to spend thousands on sophisticated VACUUM PUMP systems to create a vacuum inside the engine. They know that victory counts at all costs. The good thing is that PCV systems for everyday street cars can be bought right here at Revain for less than $50. It all starts with a good set of valve covers, like these items from FORD RACING. Extras that came with my Ford Racing caps include two rubber bushings that are the perfect size for the filler holes and securely hold the PCV valve and oil filler cap. Place. Slip-in chrome oil filler cap with barbed crankcase breather and Ford Racing logo on top. Instructions are also included. These caps are approximately 4.250 inches tall and provide adequate clearance for the roller rocker arms AND valvetrain bolt bands commonly used on engines like my 351 Cleveland for added valvetrain stability when running at high rpm/power. There is one more item that needs to be purchased along with these cases. Hardware is not included and old bolts from your OEM covers will not work due to the larger size and unique shape of the new Ford Racing valve covers. Worry not, as ARP manufactures a custom bolt kit designed specifically for this application in Cleveland Ford. The ARP part number for their fasteners is 154-7502. They are excellent with black oxide finish and 12 point sockets. I bought mine from Revain, you guessed it, for the best deal delivered to my door. Posted some photos for reference.
