Works well but you need extra reinforcement
I think three bikes would be a bit unstable but for 1 or 2 it worked great for an 8 hour highway trip in bad weather. You'll definitely want to either wrap the rear ends of the straps around the bike, or carry some extra bike tie-downs - they come with a strap for this purpose, but that's not enough. A good option if you don't have a towbar.
