Review on πŸ–₯️ ASUS VG259Q Gaming Monitor: FreeSync, DisplayPort, 24.5" 1080P, Blue Light Filter, Height Adjustment, Built-In Speakers by Michael Munoz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An amazing monitor is a massive understatement.

If you're a gamer looking for a monitor, look no further; From one player to another: buy this, you won't regret it. Don't skimp on your high-end setup and expensive devices with a 60Hz monitor. If you're using modern top-end GPUs and pushing your framerate above 60fps, you're going to run into trouble if your refresh rate doesn't match your framerate. The most important thing I would like to emphasize is the fact that this monitor is not only made for gamers, but also looks amazing. Don't be fooled by the reviews that this monitor looks terrible or has bad colors. The ability to add 3D and Nvidia G-Sync is also a great option. I've seen several reviews on various websites stating that this monitor looks "blurry" and other similar flaws, but I haven't seen any such issues. Admittedly, the factory settings look bad; However, these are OEM standard settings only. A few minutes in the menus adjusting contrast, brightness, color correction etc makes this monitor look absolutely gorgeous. Some people recommend downloading ICC color profiles and jumping through hoops to "try to make it look good". Conclusion: This is not required. If you want to follow any of these guides, download a color profile and do whatever, that's your choice. But honestly, in less than 5 minutes you can customize this monitor to your liking and look great yourself just by tweaking a few menu options. I've had an Envy 17 3D gaming laptop with an HP LED-backlit LCD display for years, and this Asus beats it head and shoulders nationally. I don't understand why some people write bad reviews about a product without fully testing it. first and at least customize the menu options. I paid $250 for it, and for a sub-$300 monitor, I couldn't be more impressed with the features and picture quality. This is a gaming monitor specially designed for gamers. The vast majority of bad reviews about a monitor with poor picture quality come from people wanting to compare a $250 TN panel designed for gaming to non-gaming monitors that are three times as good are expensive. This monitor boasts a 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms GTG latency, amazing contrast ratio, G-Sync and 3D upgrade capability, built-in Gameplus capabilities, and other gamer-focused features. Comparing it to IPS monitors with a refresh rate as low as 60Hz, 10+ ms GTG, input lag, and prices ranging from $500 to over $1,000 is far from accurate. Aside from being a fantastic gaming monitor with no ghosting, artifacts or screen tearing and with built-in features for gamers, it looks fantastic for a TN panel monitor. In my opinion, with everyday PC use and gaming, you won't see any noticeable difference in color and visual performance with this TN panel compared to lower-performing, more expensive IPS monitors. It's difficult to find a monitor that handles gaming well and also has great graphics, but it does, and it does at a great price. A 24-inch monitor is big enough to give you a great view, but not so big that you have to move your head around to see everything, or sit far from the monitor to see everything to keep sight. Vision. It has a nice solid base and a cable management bracket on the back of the monitor. The monitor swivels, tilts, rotates, is height adjustable and you can rotate the monitor for 16:9 widescreen or portrait page orientation. No matter how you set yourself up or how you sit at your computer, this monitor can be configured for maximum comfort and the best viewing experience.** one DP cable. to connect it to your GPU if you want to take advantage of the full range of performance this monitor has to offer. *DO NOT USE HDMI or DVI with this monitor! If you use HDMI or DVI with this display, you will not get or see the performance you paid for. Neither HDMI nor DIV/DVI-D support Full HD with over 60 fps (60 Hz). The main reason for choosing this monitor is its excellent 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms GTG and no noticeable input lag. This ensures high FPS without graphics problems. If you want to be able to use your monitor at 144Hz, if you want to be able to run over 100 fps and not suffer from blur, ghosting, artifacting or screen tearing, and if you want the best viewing experience and the want best performance MUST use DisplayPort. This monitor comes with a DVI-D cable and an audio cable only, not a DisplayPort cable; So be sure to purchase a VESA certified DisplayPort with this monitor.
