$300 Reverse Header System including all mounting hardware!

I built a $300 exhaust system for my '99 Cherokee. I used a Walker catalytic converter as part of this because it has a warranty and is EPA certified. If you are building a system, the first thing I would recommend is Autozone's Bosal downpipe. I was most impressed with the build quality of this part compared to all other parts I have used. It has better looks than the Walker downpipe. It doesn't have all the wrinkles that the Walker has. The next recommendation I would like to give you is the Nickson tape clips that I bought from O'Reilly Auto Parts. Tape clips typically cost around $10-15 each. At O'Reilly, they cost $5-6 each. The good thing about band clamps is that they hold the exhaust system together without deforming the exhaust pipe as much as typical U-clip (guillotine) clamps. This will help if you need to remove the exhaust system in the future to remove the gearbox. The most noticeable part I bought was the exhaust pipe. There was nothing special about the pipe itself except that it was only $17.55 and ***most importantly*** I used an exhaust pipe (Walker 45944) that was for a 1986-1992 XJ Cherokee Jeep. . It was a typical Walker detail, so it was covered in pleats. What I liked about it was that it had the regular exhaust that all Cherokees use behind the muffler, but it didn't have a horizontal bar hanging from it to the rear of the car. My jeep uses a hoop exhaust hanger. I didn't need a rod to install mine, but there was a blunt little rod welded to the exhaust on my 1999 xj walkers that I had to cut off. Also, I knew I was going to cut it flush with my rear leaf spring and put a turn down seam on it (see picture), so I didn't want any interference from the unused suspension that was welded on. Otherwise, I was impressed with how easy it was to cut the exhaust pipe with the exhaust pipe cutter (borrowed from autozone). I used an exhaust pipe expander (borrowed from Autozone) to join a few pieces together as they weren't perfectly round when they arrived. I've had oxygen sensors from NKG sitting on the shelf for the last few years that I've planned. Installation as soon as I got a new exhaust system. They cost about $22 each from Rock Auto. Your price is not included in the $300 I paid for the exhaust system. However, most systems come with just pipes and for $300 I got band clamps, exhaust hanger, insulator, gasket and all the pipes. Here you will find an overview of the details and prices.
