Ideal for disconnecting the battery. I used these for my fake Milwaukee 18v batteries to power my 3 kids bikes (upgraded from 12v for faster speed). I've set the cutoff to stop when it drops (from a fully charged 20V) to 16.5V. It does a great job of cutting off power when the cut off voltage is reached *** but *** I have to remember to disconnect the battery from this voltage disconnect device or this device will slowly discharge the lithium battery even after a few days of use 17V to 0V further. Not sure if this is just a design as it requires power to work? I've bought 3 different brands and they all drain the batteries even after a power cut = not good for completely draining lithium ion batteries. I had to "fire up" my two lithium batteries to recharge them. So keep that in mind and don't forget to turn them off when you're done.
